Aric Wood is the CEO of XPLANE, a design consultancy that helps large organizations align and engage their employees to accelerate results. XPLANE’s unique advantage comes from leveraging visual thinking, human-centered design, and co-creation to help clients solve complex problems in innovative ways, and activate strategies that stick.
Aric leads XPLANE’s Conscious Business practice, which supports purpose-led organizations driving transformational change. He is also active in XPLANE's Strategic Planning practice. With experience in strategy, general management, innovation, and entrepreneurship, Aric has a keen interest in leveraging design thinking to identify opportunities and drive innovation. Aric has appeared in publications and broadcasts including CNN, Business Week, Conscious Business and Inc. Magazine.
Aric previously served in leadership roles at Intuit and Epinions.com, and as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company. Aric earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Aric has served on a number of for-profit and non-profit boards, including the Design Museum Foundation, MusicXray.com, and as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA).
